The Existential Coloring Book is packed to the gills with animal-people paired with dark quotes from philosophers and other people worried about the essential dark unknowability of the universe. Also, activities! From an existential connect-the-dots to a page where you can draw what Kierkegaard is thinking about, you'll be sighing with joy as you work on them. This looks like a coloring book for kids, but it's probably not a good idea to give it to one. This twenty-four page, 8" x 10-1/4" book is a great gift for philosophy majors or anyone else overwhelmed with a feeling of hopelessness. Features quotes from existential thinkers, mysterious pictures to color and mildly depressing activities.
Everything you need to beat the blahs and defeat despondency.
Excellent (both informative and entertaining) gift for our grandson, who is taking a challenging philosophy course in college.Exceeded my expectations! Bought as a gift for a family member and he loves it!! I bought several different 'adult coloring books' as holiday gifts and this is the only one that has some sort of coating on each page that allows you to color with Sharpies (or gel pens) and it doesn't bleed through the paper, which is wonderful because images to color are printed on both sides of each page. I will buy this specific item again for gifts in the future (I need a copy for myself) because of the quality and the fun images and drawings!I realize not writing something pithy referencing a philosopher is bad form here, but to be honest I don't care that much about philosophy or even existentialism...I like things that are funny. This is funny. I encourage you to buy this funny thing.Funny product but it was not made clear online that the pages would be a material that makes it impossible to actually color on.I ordered this for the quotes, not for the pictures. I was not disappointed! Definitely worth five stars on the fun/funny scale. Move on to something else if you're looking for intricate, detailed pictures, for hours of meditative coloring. The texture of the pages is very smooth, almost like photograph paper, not quite suitable to all coloring mediums.Absolutely brilliant. This is one of the funniest gifts I've ever given - to a psychologist, no less. Everyone in the office was rolling!Really neat coloring book. Seemed a bit thin for the price, but perfect for one of my intellectual, book-nerdy friends.
